Guildford can also boast to have a theatre called the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Guildford as well has a cinema called Odeon. There is something unique about this cinema: as of June 2007, it is the only cinema in the world displaying digital quality videos to the public. Additionally, Guildford is the ideal place for tourists as it has restaurants which serve a wade variety of food. Nightlife activities are equally possible at Guildford as there are several bars, pubs and nightclubs. Every year the Guilfest music festival as well as the Surrey County Show takes place at Stoke Park in Guilford.

Furthermore, Guildford is a town where many farmers live. Agriculture is also favoured there. Therefore, that makes of Guildford a market town with market days being Fridays and Saturdays. A farmers market takes place on the first Tuesday of every month. So, Guildford can really be a place worth the visit. A Few Things To Note About Flying In and Out of Thailand

If you live in North America, finding a cheap destination is a big priority this year. Thailand represents a killer deal and it is very friendly towards Americans. If you are going for the first time, however, there is something you need to know about the flight.

To be honest, there are a couple of things you need to know about flying to Thailand. The first thing to grasp is the flight is long. I’m talking watch the grass grow long. I’ve flown internationally much of my life and the flight to Thailand feels like it is one of the longest. Depending on where you are coming from, it will clock in at 22 to 28 hours.

The second thing to know is that you really need to pay attention to the difference in time between your location and Thailand. From the west coast of the United States, the difference is such that you often fly into Bangkok at about one o’clock. One as in the time the bars are closing! It is pretty much just you and your fellow travelers in the airport.

Before you mark Thailand off of your list of destinations, it is important to keep in mind that pretty much everything is open at this late hour. They Thais know the flights are coming in late and cater to them. You can get taxis, hotel rooms, change money and so on. It is not a situation where you walk out of the airport and a tumbleweed rolls down the road.

The third key thing to know has to do with your flight out of the country. You really need to call in and check for updates on the flight out a few days to a week ahead of time. Why? The flights change all the time. They usually leave on the same day, but may do so as many as six hours earlier than it reads on your ticket.

This leads to some fairly amusing situations. The Thais are mortally offended if you miss your flight. If there is any chance of getting on it or a flight to the same destination, they will drag you all over the airport to get there. I’ve often ended up on a different airline asking where the heck I am going. Despite the chaos, it always seems to work out.

A Caribbean Honeymoon To Petit St Vincent

Don't book a Caribbean Honeymoon without checking out Petit St Vincent in The Grenadines

A Caribbean Honeymoon to Petit St Vincent is well worth taking the trouble to research.

Petit St Vincent is a five star Caribbean resort which has 22 rooms, and is described in its own brochure as an exotic Cottage Resort on its own 113 acre island which is completely surrounded by two miles of white sand beaches and it places great emphasis on privacy. It is 40 miles south of St Vincent in the Grenadines.

Petit St Vincent is well away from the tourist mainstream

This all sounds perfect for a Caribbean Honeymoon Vacation, and certainly needs checking out.

The first thing to note is that petit St Vincent has no television, pool, or telephone, no airport, not even a formal check in, so what you are going to get is fabulous seclusion well away from the hustle and bustle of Caribbean life, and that above all should make it perfect for that Caribbean Honeymoon.

This is very much a lay back and relax sort of place, and the level of privacy works well.

Petit St Vincent has one almost unique feature which are the flags. If for example you want room service breakfast, you hoist a yellow flag, and you will get an extremely quick response by golf cart, or alternatively if you don't wish your early morning Caribbean honeymoon to be disturbed you raise a red flag that says Do Not Disturb.

This being the case you are left in splendid peace in your great private luxurious stone cottage on the beach. In fact if you want to be a hermit during your time on petit St Vincent, you need never even see another guest thanks to the ability to order all your meals in your stone cottage. This would be a mistake because the resort has a beautiful bar and dining room

The cottages themselves are mostly just a few paces from the beach, both remote and secluded yet within easy and quick reach of the resort's services. The cottages are built from native blue bitch stone which is quarried on the island itself, and the hardwood ceilings are peaked. The cottages are quite open to the elements with large French windows that are almost the whole width of the bedroom, and when open look out over the large sundeck to the beautiful azure sea beyond. Each cottage in addition to the sundeck has a living room, one or two bathrooms, and dressing room. The bathrooms are particularly nice with a shower, robes, fluffy towels and top class toiletries. In addition there are day beds for children if required, but probably not on a Caribbean Honeymoon!!

Petit St Vincent is one of the Leading Small Hotels of the World and well deserved this distinction, and there are many activities on the island to enjoy and these include snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing, and fishing, and you will find Hobie Cats, and Sunfish in the dock house at no extra cost. On land, there is plenty island to hike over, and there is a lovely floodlit tennis court.

PSV is the ideal place for a secluded, private hideaway sort of Caribbean Honeymoon Vacation, where the sun shines, and even the most cynical guest will find peace and contentment

A Caribbean Island Resort On Canouan Island In Saint Vincent And The Grenadines

Mention a Caribbean Island Resort on Canouan in the Grenadines to anyone and they automatically think of Raffles, but the Tamarind Beach Resort and Yacht Club is very well worth checking out, and apart from the fact it is a lot less money, it is in fact a very good place to spend a Caribbean Island Vacation.

It has just forty rooms, so if you prefer small and beautiful to big and glitzy this could be right for you. Tamarind Beach sits on a long white sand beach surrounded by tropical gardens, and the location is absolutely stunning.

To get to this Caribbean Island resort is just a short hop by a small plane from St Lucia, and you will be met by someone from the Tamarind who will drive you the ten minutes it takes through the main village to the resort. You will quickly be aware of the mossies, so you will need your bug spray. Greeted at the Tamarind by a nice cooling drink, you will realise very quickly how friendly the staff are, and this compares very favourably with many other Caribbean Island Resorts.

The regular rooms are completely lined in lovely polished wood from the floor to the walls, to the decking that leads straight out onto the beach, as all rooms are beachfront. If you can afford it, and if you were even considering Raffles then you will be able to afford a Suite at Tamarind Beach Hotel. The suites are lovely, and they include a microwave and a coffee maker, a living room and a separate bedroom. The living room has a day bed and a coffee table, and a large balcony with chairs and loungers. Being up on the second floor there is more breeze, and there is no need to leave the air-conditioning on when you go out, just leave the shutters open. The screens will keep out the bugs, and you will only need air conditioning to sleep at night. There is a king size bed and a nice bathroom.

A Caribbean Island Vacation would not be complete without a great beach, and the beach at the Tamarind Beach Hotel and yacht Club is one of the nicest and best swimming beaches in the whole of the Caribbean. There are several beach loungers for the guests of the Tamarind, and a beach area valet to look after you. Non guests, mostly visiting people from the yachts which are moored offshore have to pay for the privilege, so the lovely white sand beach is hardly ever remotely busy, and the water warm and clean with no dangerous rocks to stub your toes on. There is comlimentary sunfish sailing, snorkeling, and windsurfing.

Food is another important consideration in any resort never mind a Caribbean Island resort, where lets face it the food can be quite mundane. Not so at the Tamarind Beach where the food is very good, whether you are eating a beach snack at the Pirates Cove Bar, or a meal at the Palapa Restaurant, an open air restaurant right at the waters edge.

Be clear, Canouan as a Caribbean Island vacation spot is not the kind of place for frenetic partying, and there is very little shopping. The Tamarind beach Hotel Resort and Yacht Club is a place for peace and quiet, and gentle unwinding.

Hawaii Vacation Rental: Dream Vacation

Hawaii vacation rental opportunities are exciting and offer an option you may never have even believed could exist for your family or friends in the striking tropical setting of Hawaii. There are just so many locations, from Maui vacation rentals to enjoy beach splendors to Kauai condos for luxury and privacy, and varieties from luxury apartments to modest villas, that each person can locate a favorite.

When you choose to go with a Hawaii vacation rental rather than staying at a hotel or resort, you also free yourself to follow your vacation whims. Dine at your convenience, dressed or undressed, without dropping a bundle on room service. Naturally, you can still opt to have pizza or Chinese food delivered to your door if you wish.

Just because you can cook all of your own meals in a Hawaii vacation rental doesn't mean you have to, but it's nice to make a little snack or have a simple morning meal instead of having to deal with a coffee shop or restaurant, and a whole lot cheaper as well. While you won't have the hotel staff making your beds and vacuuming and such, these take only a few minutes and you gain privacy. Some rentals even have maid service available!

The cost of renting by itself can save a lot of money for the family unit. Or, rather than a family unit, it could be a different kind of group that shares a Hawaii vacation rental in order to save money. It is most successful for those that have shared accommodations before and understand their compatibility. You won't even be confined to a lengthy visit, because a rental can be obtained for an extremely brief time or for a week or a month.

Most of these rentals will be fully furnished and will also have the latest in entertainment, such as music systems, DVDs and video games. The rentals come equipped with modern kitchen appliances and most also have laundry equipment. Dishes, pots, pans and silverware are also provided.

Hawaii rental properties can be inexpensive or have sky high prices that shock the average traveler. When searching for your property, you can filter the results by price, length of stay, additional amenities, number of residents, etc. This will allow you to find the property best suited for your need. Searching for the perfect property can be done online or through a travel agency.

A Caribbean Hideaway On Mayreau Island In The Grenadines

Mayreau hosts The Caribbean Island Resort, the Saltwhistle Bay Club, which is a real Caribbean Hideaway in the Grenadines

Your arrival at Saltwhisle Bay is by boat, having been picked up at the airport on Union Island, and you are taken to Mayreau Island. Real holiday hideaways very often are only accessible by boat, and as you cross the channel to Mayreau you will realise, if you didn't before what a small island it is.

Mayreau in fact is the smallest inhabited island in the Grenadines, being less than two square miles in size, with a population of about 250 living in a village on the south west of the island. Saltwhistle Bay Resort occupies the entire northern end of Mayreau island and the unspoilt beach shore of the windward side, which is considered by many windsurfers and kite boarders to be world class. Another reason for basing yourself here is that the famous, beautiful Tobago Cays are no distance away at all.

You will be greeted with a tray of rum punch, and your luggage will disappear, to reappear again in your bedroom, one of just ten rooms in stone cottages, scattered around behind a screen of palm trees in a 22 acre tropical garden. This is a simple and definitely barefoot type of place, but don't be misled because it is also extremely comfortable but very low key. The cottages at Saltwhistle bay have been built using local wood and stone, and all feature king sized beds, with a spacious bed sitting area with an ensuite bathroom. Accessible from each room is a semi private shaded and furnished roof terrace.

It has to be described as a real Caribbean Hideaway because it is at least two plane journeys and a boat ride from home, so it is isolated. There is a little activity but not much, and the people who come here, do so to escape the speed and noise of life in the twenty first century. Most people who come to this Caribbean island resort come to read, relax, swing in a hammock and just generally enjoy the natural tropical life of a totally undeveloped tropical paradise. The bay is a perfect half moon of white sand and turquoise blue water, and must be one of the very best in the Caribbean

To summarise the key features of Saltwhistle Bay.

This is a very remote small Grenadines Hotel set on the smallest inhabited Grenadines Island of Mayreau, with a bar which can be lively with visiting yachtsmen, and an excellent stone and palm thatched garden restaurant which presents three good meals every day. It is an intimate, friendly hotel on a romantic Caribbean beach, with good swimming. This really is the classic Caribbean barefoot seclusion and attracts independent travellers, honeymooners and visiting yachtsmen.

Two things still to mention about this Caribbean Island resort which relate to tnings close by. The first is the Tobago Cays, the five uninhabited dream islands, and Saltwhistle Bay Club is the clsest resort to them, being just 15 minutes from the Cays and a snorkelling paradise. Not only that you can spend an afternoon on Petite Tobaque which is where Johnny Depp was marooned in the movie 'Pirates of the Caribbean'.

The second thing is that you should visit the village on the other side of Mayreau where you will be able to eat some very good food at great value prices.

This Caribbean Island resort will not be for you if you like five star pampering but if you see yourself as a traveller as opposed to a holidaymaker then this Caribbean Hideaway could be perfect.

Desoto Falls-Desoto State Park- Lookout Mountain Alabama

The year was 1540 and Hernando Desoto and his Army of Spanish Conquistadors were on their way down the Chattooga River heading toward Cedar Bluff, Alabama. On June 4th, 1540 they arrived and camped for almost a month on an island. It was soon named McCoy's island, 'Chiaha" was the name given by Desoto's historians.

As they arrived they found the beauty of the two rivers and the Coosa valley to be very pleasing. They decided to rest at McCoy's Island to heal the men and horses. It was also very abundant in food and the perfect camp after a long hard journey through the Appalachian Mountains. A journey that was very difficult and a challenge for even the most experienced warrior!

There were rumors of gold to be found in the north and west hills of Lookout Mountain. So Desoto decides to send a small army of men led by lieutenant Vilabo and Silva. They departed on June 1570 and passed between Menlo, Georgia and Blanche, Alabama toward Desoto Falls near Mentone, Alabama! They decided to camp for a few days at the 104 foot waterfalls. It is located on the west fork of little river on Lookout Mountain.

For several days the troops searched the area for gold and other treasures and then proceeded to pass through Big Wills to Henagar Alabama. Here they found south Sauty Creek and followed it all the way to Buck's Pocket State Park. It is said that the men were blown away by the view from point rock and did not find gold but found iron Oxide high in the cliffs around Buck's Pocket! There is no historical evidence that says they went any further than Buck's pocket or ever saw the Tennessee River!

From this point the party headed back toward McCoy's Island and passed through the town of Sand Rock, Alabama. The men returned to Chiaha (McCoy's Island) near Hokes Bluff. They arrived to discover that Desoto and the main party had set trail June 28, 1540 down the Coosa River. Desoto had left a few wounded men behind to wait for the Sand mountain crew to return. They departed to catch up with Desoto and arrived on June 18, 1540 only two days behind Desoto's arrival on July 16, 1540. They camped at the mouth of the Talladega creek in Talladega County.

Many people say that Desoto discovered the falls but there is evidence that the area was used by Indians and even the Welsh! Located near 325 feet above little river are three caves that are interconnected by openings between the caverns. They are protected by the cliff and only a narrow trail leads the way to the Welsh caves. It is rumored that only a few men could fight off an army of troops. The trail was so narrow that only one man could pass at a time.

It is believed that the Welsh traveled to the New World over 300 years before Columbus and made 3 trips. They sailed into Mobile Bay and traveled to Lookout Mountain. The Indians of the time did not possess the skill of excavation and it is believed that the Welsh came and built the caves high above little river. There were also six skeletons found wearing brass armor with the Welsh coat of arms.

Desoto falls is an awesome waterfalls and seeing it in person is inspiring and beautiful. To see the foliage in the fall is breath taken and colors are super vibrant. I could not imagine what it would have looked like 500 years ago. The area is still very preserved and has an abundant supply of wildlife.

In the 1920's Arthur Abernathy Miller and self taught electrical engineer built a twenty-foot high damn above the falls. Author built the damn to supply power to his hydroelectric generator on the west side of the gorge. There is still a square concrete slab where the generator one was. It supplied power for fort Payne, Collinsville, Mentone, valley head, Alabama and Menlo Georgia.. If it wasn't for Miller's genius many people in the area would have been without power.

Desoto State Park is one of Alabama most beautiful areas and has many things to do year around. They have cabins, chalets, swimming, picnic area, hiking trails, and many special events. You can't forget all the waterfalls in the area either: Indian falls, Azalea falls, laurel, lost falls, Lodge Falls, and of course Desoto Falls! You could spend a week in Desoto state park just looking at waterfalls and hiking. Little river falls and many other falls around Little River Canyon are just a short drive away!

There are a few great trails, Wildflower trail that is perfect for you flower lovers. It is only 0.49 and begins and ends at the lodge! Looking for a longer hike you can take Laurel Creek Loop and is a total of 2.9 miles long. This is the perfect trail for you waterfall lovers and passes by laurel falls, lost Falls and azalea cascade. When it is dry you may not find Lost falls so be prepared! It also starts and ends at the same place making it a great trail for you hikers.

They have an awesome camping area with 58 water and electric sites and two comfort stations with restrooms with hot showers. You will want to make reservations, first come first serve. They also have 20 primitive camping spots and offer a group rate and a single person is $5.35 as of 2008. It is $3 per person with the group rate! You can also use the bathrooms and showers!

Need food, you have the Desoto State Park Mountain Inn cooking all the home classics. There are also places in Mentone like Cragsmere Manna Restaurant and Dessie's Country Chef, just like mom used to make!

While you are in the area you must check out Little River Canyon National Preserve with great 700 foot cliffs and waterfalls along Lookout Mountain. Little River is a rock climbers paradise and also has white water for you water ducks out there. Come to Alabama and see the beauty of the mountain and lose yourself into nature. If you come in the winter time be sure to check out Cloudmont Ski and Golf. They start blowing Alabama snow as soon as it gets 28 degrees and the area gets an annual snowfall of 12 inches. Who would have ever thought it, Alabama snow!

Thanks for reading about Desoto Falls on Lookout Mountain. Come see Alabama and understand why they call it "Alabama the Beautiful!"

The Complete Cyprus Villa Rental Checklist!

We are going to cover a series of must dos that you should consider in the case that you are thinking of renting a holiday villa in Cyprus. These points will make sure that nothing will possibly go wrong for anyone wishing to rent a villa in Cyprus as well as a whole string of related matters.

The letting agency that you choose to use should be a reputable one or it should at least have been recommended to you. Don't even consider sending any type deposit unless you have been provided with complete contact details. Have a look on their website to see if their contact details are the same and also you may want to try contacting any previous customers listed who give positive feedback.

Be very suspicious of prices that seem extremely low for no good reason. Don't make payment through services like Western Union or Money Gram, as the cash can be "received" anonymously. If possible pay by credit card, and ensure your card has the appropriate protection (call them first to be sure)

Shop around and speak to agents by phone first when looking online, or at least send an email and see how they reply. Ask if you can speak to previous customers of the letting agent, if they have done a good job they should have no problem with this. Do a Google search on the company or individual's name as you may be surprised at what you find.

Make sure too that you know the amount that you are spending on your trip and double check on the currency that is quote, whether it be Euro or Pounds Sterling. If you need to convert Euro into Pounds try the internet for some great exchange rate sites. Also make sure you have the time clear for entering your villa and also for vacating it on departure.

Getting the exact address can be very useful indeed. Firstly you may need it handy should you require a taxi on arrival in order to get to your destination villa. Finally you may have the chance to see the exact location of the villa through Google Earth. You may pick up on a lot of building work or maybe you consider it too isolated. Whatever your reason might be, it may not be too late to change your rental villa for a more acceptable one.

Stick to these basic points and you'll enjoy a wonderful Cyprus villa rental experience. If you have any doubt at all then we very strongly recommend you first take a look at our preferred villa rental agency, then see how they stack up against other options. Enjoy Cyprus!
